I recently heard of life as being likened to a recipe. It made me think- what is my recipe for a great life?

I love this analogy as I come from a line of cooks, so it is easy for me to think through. When I want to make a dish, I first assess the ingredients I currently possess, then check the expiration dates of things that I do have but are no longer useful for a great outcome. Then there are some things I do not possess that I need to actively go and seek out to craft a rich fulfilling nutritious dish.  In crafting a great life, the same approach is needed.

When I look at the recipe I want to create, what exactly does it look like and feel like? Let’s assess our current life now-What do you presently have going on that you need to keep and then what activities, relationships, practices do you have that are no longer useful and need to be replaced or shifted? I know in different seasons, success has looked different as I prepare my life dish. What do you need to plan, seek out and put your hands to in order to get what you want to taste from your life?

Assess your environment and determine what you have, what you need to throw and what you need to purchase/obtain. Take inventory and let’s get that recipe cooking!
