I have been teaching for several months on doing hard things and building good habits that vote for a better version of ourselves. There are so many roadblocks that get in the way to the life we want to live. These roadblocks are often in the form of some type of resistance.

Resistance is often times shaped in the form of excuses, alibis, blame and procrastination. As we give into these things, these resistances, things get harder. The muscle of resilience, perseverance, and grit do not get built. The more we lay off of that THING, the worse we get. The farther we get from the better version of ourselves. The beauty is in the butterfly, but the work was done in the cocoon!

The more you put yourself in uncomfortable situations and grow through them, it will result in the better version of you: a better leader, a better human, a better parent, or a better spouse. You will be able to have that hard conversation, make that hard call, lean in to that hard problem, step into a challenging meeting or deal with a dysfunctional behavior of your own!

The most important work we can do is our own work!
