It is the last week of October and so much has happened in the last few weeks. Outside I see debris being cleaned up and things getting back in order – I see us getting settled in more and more in the new building and I see commercial planting in new spaces. It feels like there is a beginning of a settling of sorts – a preparation for new growth, additions and renewed vision.

This morning as I ponder the week and specifically what I have on my plate, I feel the call deep within to listen intently, survey the landscape of the departments, groups, and organization as a whole. I feel I need to slow down my senses to take in what is needed, what is the temperature, what are the steps to finish our year strong as individuals and as a team? How do I stay present and tuned in,  yet carve time weekly to continue to strategize and plan.

November is next, a month of Thanksgiving and rolling up the year of 2020 in the next two months.  I would like you to do the same. What is God calling you to in the next two months? What behaviors, practices and mindsets need to shift?  Can we step back, let everything settle in our minds, back up, breathe and assess the situation? What is the truest most beautiful week in this present reality that I can imagine?  Not what is the easiest most fun but what is the truest way to walk out this week with regard to who we are in this present state, not in denial of stuff, genuine, authentic, and aligned with who you are, what you stand for and necessary steps to stay grounded and prioritize well.  The words I get are SETTLE, PAUSE, ASSESS, OBSERVE before heading into purposeful present action.

Take a half hour this week to contemplate what is the truest most beautiful week I can imagine personally and professionally. What do I need to finish feeling fulfilled, accomplished, and proud of the behaviors and activities I invested my time in?

Luke 14:28 says “which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has the resources to complete it?

Make this week great!
